5 Hairstyles to Shake Up Your Studio Look

Do you ever get in a hair slump? Do you ever have days where your saggy ponytail is killing your vibe in the studio? Days where up-do isn’t really inspiring you or helping you to dance your best? Boring buns be gone! Check out these five unique hairstyles that are sure to bring some life back into your studio look:

1. Infinity Bun (Or: Figure 8 Bun)

Literally, a “twist” on your classic ballet bun. This style will have your friends thinking you spent hours on your hair, but it’s actually pretty simple! Ideal for those days where you want your hair totally tight, but aren’t in the mood for a normal bun or pony. Secure it horizontally for an even more unique look.

2. Triple Pony Faux-hawk (Or: The “Rey” Look!)

This one is for all the Star Wars fans! Channel your innerJedi with this copycat style of Rey’s signature hairdo from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Make three ponytails, leave about a quarter of the ends secured in your hair tie, and boom! You’ve officially awoken the force of super cool hair.

3. Double Buns

One bun= boring. Two buns= fresh and fun! This one’s super easy if you’ve already mastered the bun. Just do it twice! Place them super high for a sporty effect or lower to look a little more sleek.

4. Boxer Braid Up Do

This one is absolutely one of my favorites. It’s perfect for thick or long-haired dancers looking for a secure style. If you’re not afraid of ponytail whiplash, secure hair ties at the base of your neck to either end of the braid and let the ends be free for a more casual look.

5. Top Knot/Half Down

Need something fast that doesn’t look sloppy? This top knot with half your hair down will do the trick. It’s perfect for getting the hair out of your face while still allowing it to flow and move with you. The best part is it looks equally awesome on short and long hair.
